No, our shower screens are not pre-made or imported from overseas. We manufacture our shower screens to measure in Australia, using high-quality materials and in compliance with Australian standards. This allows us to ensure that our shower screens are custom-fit for your bathroom and built to last.
The installation time for a shower screen can vary depending on the type of screen and the complexity of the installation. On average, a professional installer can complete the installation within an hour or two. After installation it's recommended to leave the screen untouched for a minimum of 24hrs, but depending on weather, it may need 48hrs.
There are several types of shower screens available, including framed, semi-framed, semi-frameless and frameless. Framed shower screens have metal frames around the glass panels, while semi-framed/ frameless shower screens have frames around some of the panels. Frameless shower screens have no frames and are held in place with brackets, hinges or channels.
While it is possible to install a shower screen yourself, it is recommended that you hire a professional installer to ensure that the screen is installed correctly and safely. A professional installer will have the necessary tools and expertise to complete the installation efficiently and with minimal disruption to your bathroom.
Even with regular cleaning, soap scum and mould can still build up on your glass shower screen. It’s also worth noting that not all shower screens are made the same. Some use laminate glass, which consists of two sheets of glass with a film in between. Laminate glass has a higher risk of mould building up between the layers, which is why we don’t use it.
The shower screens we fabricate are made with toughened glass — a single sheet that has been heat-treated to make it stronger, more durable, and more resistant to breakage. Toughened glass is widely considered a higher-quality, longer-lasting option, and it’s easier to keep clean and hygienic compared to laminate glass.
